The Rising Tide of UK Flood Risk

Free white paper available now

Despite flooding being a widely recognised peril in the UK, it still poses significant risk to communities and properties nationwide.

JBA modelling estimates that 1 in 4 UK properties are at risk to flood, with annual costs of £527m to UK residential properties - rising to £1.9bn without the mitigating effects of existing flood defences.

Under a changing climate, this cost is expected to increase even further.

In JBA's white paper, we explore the state of UK flood risk further, including brand new analysis from JBA's latest UK Flood Model.

The white paper covers:

  • Analysis of UK flood risk, including risk and AAL breakdowns by flood type, geographical location, flood defence and PLP impacts, and more
  • Impacts of climate change on future flood risk in the UK
  • An overview of the new UK Flood Model, including data inputs and validation
  • Overview of some of the new customisation features in the model, including modifiable hazard data, flood defence analysis options, and event sets for sensitivity analysis
