Flood science specialist JBA is to supply the World Bank with enhanced access to its Global Flood Maps following its appointment to the Development Data Partnership. Under the agreement, the World Bank will be able to access JBA’s 30m resolution flood hazard maps for every country in the world, including flood extents and depths across multiple return periods for both river and surface water flooding as well as coastal flooding in some countries.
The Development Data Partnership is a collaboration between international organisations and technology companies which facilitates the efficient and responsible use of third-party data in international development. The new collaboration builds on JBA’s extensive International Development work with the World Bank and other development banks, NGOs and governments.
