Software Engineer

Are you bright, inquisitive, and keen to push the boundaries in delivering cutting edge technology? Would you like to be a key element in the JBA-Oasis partnership, working as a software engineer embedded within the Oasis Loss Modelling Framework product team, striving to ensure JBA models can be presented seamlessly via the Oasis framework? If so, come and work with us!

Your role

You will work as a software engineer embedded within the Oasis product team, striving to ensure the full power of JBA’s models can be delivered to our customers via the Oasis platform. The open source nature of Oasis means your work will additionally support innovation across the wider catastrophe modelling community. The role is a key strategic element of the long-standing and highly valued partnership between JBA and Oasis.

The initial focus of the role will be on accelerating the runtime of JBA's high resolution flood models within a clustered environment. Focus is then likely to shift towards improving the range and sophistication of supported modelling workflows, and the way in which uncertainty in modelling inputs is captured, propagated through and reported from the modelling process.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a number of highly talented teams, contributing to a platform and associated models that are actively disrupting a traditional industry.

Work will be largely home based; the successful candidate will be expected to come into London (close to London Bridge) one or two days per week.
