Business and Financial Support Officer

Your role

You will work as part of Business Services providing support for our Client and Product Development Teams. Your focus will be on providing support to Project Managers with the financial administration of projects including invoicing (creation and checking), calculating payments to third party data providers, project forecasting, and support in ensuring that processes related to project management are being followed. You may also be required to support the teams with other administrative type tasks as needed . You will be required to work with a variety of people at all levels of seniority.

Key responsibilities:

  • Generic project management supporting Business Development, with onboarding new and updating existing clients on our internal platforms
  • Providing financial and project reports generated from internal and company intranet sources
  • Creating monthly invoices, royalty returns (outgoing and incoming), project financial reconciliations and Work in Progress reports
  • Progressing overdue payments
  • Producing financial reports as required
  • Booking of travel and accommodation
  • Keeping comprehensive and accurate records; maintaining spreadsheets
  • Undertaking project audits to ensure compliance with company Quality Management Systems
  • Internal meeting support and minute taking, including assisting with booking of internal and external meetings

We’re looking for a motivated individual who works well independently and as part of a team with a commitment to supporting colleagues as needed with project and finance related tasks.

You will have experience of invoicing and other finance/project support with excellent organisational skills and will be able to communicate confidently with both internal and external clients in a helpful and professional manner.

  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to work to, and sometimes implement own, processes
  • The ability to quickly learn and adapt to company procedures and systems
  • The capability to work to a high level of accuracy and correctness
  • Experience of MS Office, with excellent skills in Excel and Word
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – to deal with staff, suppliers and clients
  • Experience in reviewing existing processes and assisting in the planning and implementation of improvements
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to manage a variety of tasks, expectations of colleagues, communicate progress and raise questions where appropriate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptability – ability to deal constructively with challenges and to look for the best solution to meet changing priorities and objectives
