Landmark study on man-made climate change

Man-made climate change helped cause south of England floods, say scientists

A landmark new study involving researchers from the University of Oxford, the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, the JBA Trust, Lancaster University, Koninklijk Nederlands Meteorologisch Instituut, Le Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement, the Met Office, JBA Risk Management Ltd, and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts found that anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions increased the risk of the once-a-century wet January in 2014 by 43%.

Using data supplied by JBA Risk Management, the research, which has just been published in the journal Nature Climate Change, is a technically detailed scientific publication written largely for a specialist readers. For this reason, Professor Lamb has summarised it and it is available to read on the JBA Trust website.
