JBA Risk Management wins Risk Modeller of the Year

Award recognises pioneering approach to flood risk

Leading flood risk specialist, JBA Risk Management, has been awarded London Market Risk Modeller of the Year at the 2017 Reactions London Market Awards.

This marks the second time in three years the company has won the prestigious award.

The accolade recognises global excellence in risk modelling and was awarded to JBA Risk Management in recognition of its pioneering approach to flood risk. It was presented at a gala dinner at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, London, on 28 June.

Jane Toothill, Director at JBA Risk Management, said: “This award recognises JBA Risk Management as a major global player in the risk modelling world. It’s a tribute to the hard work and talent of our whole team and we couldn’t be happier to have won.”

She added: “Flood risk is increasing due to climate change, and flood modelling is a complex discipline that demands specialist expertise in areas as disparate as hydrology, hydraulics, mathematics and software engineering. We’re extremely proud of our unrivalled knowledge in these areas which combine to make us the leading global flood modeller.”

JBA Risk Management provides flood risk modelling services and is known for its cutting-edge approach to flood risk.

It’s the first company to offer global flood maps and event modelling on a global scale which provides simulated flood data on unprecedented scale and detail, and to create full national-scale flood models for India, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Its high resolution, multi-peril flood model of the UK is one of the models used by the government-backed reinsurance scheme, Flood Re, which enables the private insurance market to provide affordable domestic flood cover for homes in high-risk areas.

JBA Risk Management is headquartered in the UK, with offices in the US, Singapore, Germany and Sweden.
